Nicola Coughlan had some support from her sister as she attended the 2025 BAFTA TV awards where she was up for her first ever nomination. The Irish star held hands with her sister Clodagh, who she took as her date to the prestigious awards, and the siblings posed for photos holding hands on the red carpet, showing their close bond. Today's top videos The Bridgerton actress looked stunning in a rose-inspired dress at the BAFTA TV awards on Sunday night in London's Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall. She wore a cream and black off-the-shoulder number with a bodice featuring a floral-shaped design of roses surrounding the top of the dress. The black-sequined skirt fanned into an elegant tea length, which showed off her black court heels underneath. Nicola wore a soft nude make-up look with her her blonde locks scooped back into a ponytail and accessorised with pearl jewellery. She used her red carpet appearance to make a political statement with an Artists4Ceasefire badge pinned to her dress which called for a ceasefire in Gaza. Her sister Clodagh wore a complimentary ivory tea-length dress to her sister, with a high neck and structured A-line style. The sisters also coordinated with matching oval sunglasses to complete their BAFTAs look. The Derry Girls star missed out on winning her first BAFTA after she was nominated in the Female Performance in a Comedy category for her role in Channel 4 show Big Mood. The six-part series follows Maggie, played by Nicola, as she hilariously navigates the return of her bipolar disorder, much to the dismay of her best pal Eddie. However, Nicola lost to Welsh actress Ruth Jones who took home the BAFTA Award for her performance as Nessa in Gavin & Stacey: The Finale. The Galway native was also in the running to win the Memorable Moments of the Year category, which is the only BAFTA award decided on by the public but wasn't successful in that category either. Nicola's onscreen romance with Luke Newton's Colin in Bridgerton was up for the award, specifically that memorable carriage scene where Colin Bridgertonadmits his true feelings for Penelope Featherington. However, Bridgerton didn't nab the big prize which went toChris McCausland and Dianne Buswell for their waltz to 'You'll Never Walk Alone' in Strictly Come Dancing. There was only one Irish winner on the night: Blue Lights a series which is set in Belfast and took home the coveted award in the Best Drama Series category. Other Irish stars who were up for a BAFTA included Lola Petticrew who was nominated for Leading Actress for their portrayal of Dolours Price in Disney+'s Say Nothing. She lost out to Marisa Abela who took home the gong for Leading Actress for her role in the BBC show Industry. Graham Norton has also received a nomination for his chat show but lost out to Joe Lycett with his show Late Night Lycett.
